Summary:
Under this funding opportunity announcement, the Department of Energy is soliciting applications for small wind turbine component development that demonstrate the potential for improvements in cost, reliability, and performance in grid-connected applications at low wind speed regimes. For purposes of this announcement, low wind speeds are defined as Class 3 (average of 5.35 m/s at an elevation of 10 meters above ground level), and small wind turbines are defined as turbines of 100 kilowatts or less.
