Summary:
The Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Building Technologies Program seeks applications for applied research in the Solid-State Lighting (SSL) Technologies Program. The focus of this funding opportunity announcement is to support applied research in key technical areas by fostering a collaborative atmosphere favorable to overcoming the significant technical challenges that restrict the application of SSL today to only relatively low-luminous-output products.
This funding opportunity focuses on four areas of interest:
- LED Internal Quantum Efficiency
- LED Extraction Efficiency: Device Approaches, Structures, and Systems and Strategies for Improved Light Extraction
- OLED Materials Research: High-Efficiency, Low-Voltage, Stable Materials
- Approaches to OLED Structures Between the Electrodes for Improved Performance Low-Cost, White-Light Devices.
