Summary:
This announcement is intended to accelerate market development of advanced R-5 highly-insulating residential windows by limiting the consumer price premium to $3-$4/square foot above conventional double-glazed, low-e, argon gas-filled units. The goal is to achieve commercialization of cost-effective, highly insulating windows in the 2010-2012 timeframe for a broad range of applications in colder climates.
