Summary:

The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy is seeking applications for cost-shared research and development of technologies that will provide the next step in the “SuperBoiler” steam generation initiative. Projects will be in two phases. Phase I will involve research into methods to achieve ultra-high efficiency for industrial water-tube or fire-tube package boilers. Projects continuing into Phase II will build on the results of Phase I to develop an industrial prototype fire- or water-tube package boiler and demonstrate the performance of the boiler in the field.
