Geothermal Technologies Office Seeks Proposed Technologies that Lower the Cost of Electricity

Geothermal Technologies Office (formerly Geothermal Technologies Program) seeks technologies that reduce the levelized cost of electricity to 6ยข/kWh by 2020 for new hydrothermal development and by 2030 for Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS). Applicants should consider using Geothermal Electricity Technology Evaluation Model (GETEM) to show a clear and detailed pathway to cost reduction using their proposed technology. Methods to identify, access, create, and sustain hydrothermal and EGS reservoirs are of interest.
