State Geothermal Resource Maps

The Idaho National Laboratory Web site features geothermal resource maps for the following western states:

  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Hawaii
  • Idaho
  • Montana
  • Nevada
  • New Mexico
  • Oregon
  • Utah
  • Washington
  • Wyoming.

The maps provide various kinds of information, such as:

  • Areas with potential for geothermal applications
  • Areas with geothermal wells and springs
  • Locations of specific geothermal applications—electrical generation, greenhouses, industrial, district heating, space heating, aquaculture, spas and resorts
  • Land ownership of areas with geothermal resources.
