Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) will be able to access earth's heat throughout the United States. Technologies needed to effectively tap these resources depend on the amount of heat available at various depths from the surface. The relationship between temperature and depth is referred to as the heat gradient. On these pages, you'll find a variety of maps and data that identify geothermal resources around the world.
