GTP Adds Meeting on the National Geothermal Data System Project to Peer Review
May 10, 2010
The design of the National Geothermal Data System (NGDS) was initiated in early fiscal year 2010 to address capturing and providing geothermal data to users--researchers, industry, state and federal agencies, and the public. The NGDS will handle the full range of geoscience and engineering data pertinent to geothermal resources, as well as incorporate data from the full suite of geothermal resource types. It will be an accessible, easy to use system meeting the needs of the professional and the public for information on geothermal resources in the U.S.
The project is being conducted under GTP's direction by Boise State University and its partners, Oregon Institute of Technology, Stanford University, U.S. Geological Survey, and the University of Nevada--Reno. This Project Coordination Meeting will report on the progress of the project and address contributions and activities of the NGDS team.
The meeting will take place at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, VA, on Monday, May 17, 2010, just preceding the GTP Peer Review scheduled at the same location for May 18-20, 2010.
Be sure to stay for the Reception at 5 PM.
Please register for this Pre-Peer Review Event, as well as the GTP Peer Review.
