Fuel Cell Technologies Program Multi-Year Research, Development and Demonstration Plan*
The Fuel Cell Technologies Program Multi-Year Research, Development and Demonstration Plan* describes the planned research, development, and demonstration activities for hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. The document was first published in draft form in 2003, and in final form in 2005. Elements of it have been revised occasionally since then. Throughout the early years of this research, the entire program received extensive review by the hydrogen and fuel cell research community, including panels of the National Research Council and the National Academy of Engineering.
The October 2007 edition reflects the technical progress made since inception and the improved forecasts that come from actual experience. Revisions have been made since October 2007, as noted next to the revised PDFs. More revisions are expected in the years ahead, as the program moves towards its goals.
The document has been divided into sections for easier use. Each section is available as an Adobe Acrobat PDF.

*This document is currently being updated. The existing document on the Web shows the previous name of the Program within the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) — the Hydrogen, Fuel Cells and Infrastructure Technologies Program. The Program's name was changed to the Fuel Cell Technologies Program in 2009. Furthermore, the DOE-wide program formerly known as the DOE Hydrogen Program (which integrates hydrogen and fuel cell activities in the Offices of EERE, Science, Fossil Energy, and Nuclear Energy) has also been changed, to the DOE Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Program.
