Polymer and Composite Materials Meeting
The U.S. Department of Energy's Fuel Cell Technologies Office and Sandia National Laboratories held a Polymer and Composite Materials Meeting on October 17–18, 2012, in Washington, D.C., to share information about the use of polymer and composite materials in hydrogen applications.
Meeting objectives were 1) to discuss knowledge gaps and data needs for using polymers and composite materials systems in hydrogen service, particularly at high pressures, demanding duty cycles, and long service life, and 2) to provide input to enable lower-cost, higher-performance systems through improved knowledge and revised codes and standards. Participants included engineers and scientists from the hydrogen and fuel cell technology industries, standards development organizations, and federal and commercial laboratories.
