Summary:
Developing a 1-5 kilowatt fuel cell system prototype to operate on fossil and biomass-derived fuels is one of three Congressionaly funded projects (CDPs) included in a Funding Opportunity Announcement issued by the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory. All the CDPs are targeted for awards to for-profit firms.
The fuel cell project goal is to demonstrate fuel flexiblity and modularity of high temperature fuel cells. The other two projects involve low-cost gasification systems and control technologies for synthesis gas combustion.
