DOD-DOE Aircraft Petroleum Use Reduction Workshop

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Fuel Cell Technologies Office and the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) held a workshop on September 30, 2010, in Washington, DC, to discuss the potential for fuel cells to reduce aircraft petroleum use. Workshop objectives were to discuss collaboration across DOD and DOE in keeping with the DOD-DOE Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), to motivate RD&D for auxiliary power unit (APU) applications and identify R&D challenges, and to identify next steps and potential collaboration opportunities.
