DOE Technology Validation Projects

Stationary fuel cells can be used for backup power, power for remote locations, stand-alone power plants for towns and cities, distributed generation for buildings, and co-generation of heat and power. The Fuel Cell Technologies Program has a number of demonstrations underway to develop and evaluate the performance of fuel cells for stationary applications.

The status of DOE's stationary/distributed generation technology validation projects is detailed in the technology validation section of the Annual Progress Report.
