Why was the BestPractices program formed under ITP?

BestPractices, under the U.S. Department of Energy's Industrial Technologies Program (ITP), helps U.S. manufacturers maintain global competitiveness through strategic energy management, including the use of energy-efficient technologies. BestPractices helps industrial manufacturers cut costs and emissions—and this helps our nation achieve its economic and environmental goals

BestPractices offers a variety of Informational resources and tools to help manufacturers save energy and improve their bottom line. There is technical assistance available and as well as opportunities to review and access emerging technologies. BestPractices also teams with industrial firms to conduct hands-on energy assessments and provides training opportunities in plant energy management practices.

What tools and training resources are available specifically to help my plant run more efficiently?

There are powerful software tools available to help your plant identify and analyze energy system savings opportunities. While the tools are accessible here for download, we also encourage you to attend a training workshop to enhance your knowledge and take full advantage of opportunities identified in the software programs. For some tools, advanced training is also available to help you further increase your expertise.
