Active R&D Projects
The first generation, firetube, Super Boiler target 94% fuel-to-steam efficiency and NOx emissions below 5 (parts per million by volume) ppmv. These boilers will also be 50% smaller and lighter than currently available boilers of similar capacity. (PDF 1.1 MB).
The current combustion R&D portfolio consists of four projects that may be instrumental in achieving industry and national goals. Some of this research already has begun yielding near-term benefits in commercial applications.
Project factsheets for each project are available as Adobe Acrobat PDFs. Download Adobe Reader.
