Industrial Technologies Program – Fuel and Feedstock Flexibility

About Fuel and Feedstock Flexibility

Industrial Technologies Program's (ITP) early work to evaluate the initial scope and possible outcomes fuel and feedstock flexibility has reinforced the need for research and demonstrations, as well as targeted investigations, to prove the viability of fuel and feedstock flexibility options to a wide industrial audience.

This cross-cutting program will provide insights into various methods to reduce the industrial consumption of natural gas. Early activities include:

  • Facilitating the use of natural gas alternative sources
  • Demonstrations of the technology requirements that need to be performed in an industrial setting
  • Facilitating alternatives to natural gas as a feedstock in the broader chemicals sector
  • Disseminating industry-derived information on the management of technical, economic and regulatory issues
