Case Checklist

Below is a list of all of the information that you will need to complete Quick PEP. For certain items you can print out a worksheet for collecting the necessary information.

1. Supplied Electricity Information - (worksheet PDF 19 KB ) the average amount of electricity that you purchase or generate on site and the average amount that you pay. The averages can be monthly, quarterly or annually. You can get this information from your electricity bills. If you have a number of recent electricity bills you can fill out a worksheet with actual bill information and let Quick PEP calculate the averages.
2. Supplied Fuel Information - (worksheet PDF 20 KB ) the average amount of fuel that you purchase or generate on site and the average amount that you pay. You may enter multiple streams if you purchase more than one type of fuel. The averages can be monthly, quarterly or annually. You can get this information from your fuel bills. If you have a number of recent fuel bills you can fill out a worksheet with actual bill information and let Quick PEP calculate the averages.
3. Supplied Steam Information - (worksheet PDF 20 KB ) the average amount of steam that you purchase or generate on site and the average amount that you pay. The averages can be monthly, quarterly or annually. You can get this information from your electricity bills. If you have a number of recent steam bills you can fill out a worksheet with actual bill information and let Quick PEP calculate the averages.
4. Production Information - please provide some estimate of average production. The estimate can be monthly, quarterly or annually. This information is used so that Quick PEP can provide you some sense of the cost of energy per unit of production as well as the potential energy and cost savings for your plant per unit of production.
5. Energy Use Systems - please select the major energy use systems in your plant. Quick PEP will provide a list for you with definitions. Quick PEP will also provide default selections based on the selected industry for your plant.
6. Energy Use Distribution - please estimate the energy use distribution for the selected energy use systems in your plant. This simply means deciding what percentage of total electricity energy, fuel energy, and steam energy is consumed by each energy use system. Quick PEP will provide a default distribution based on the selected industry for your plant. Quick PEP also provides worksheets for you to enter average energy consumption data for each energy use system.
7. Energy Savings Opportunities - the last step in Quick PEP is characterizing the energy savings opportunities for each system in your plant. You will do this by answering some simple questions about each system in your plant regarding the amount of energy related work/refurbishing that has been done on each system.
