Tutorial: Energy Use Systems - Step 6 of 9

Overview

Step 6 in the Quick PEP process is selecting Energy Use Systems. On this screen you select all of the major energy use systems that are in use at your plant. Quick PEP has the following energy use systems to choose from. (Click on a system to see its definition)

Combined heat and power (cogeneration)	Materials processing
Compressed air	Process cooling and refrigeration
Electrochemical processes	Process heating
Fans and Blowers	Pumps
Industrial Facilities: (Lighting, HVAC, and Facility Support)	Steam Generation Equipment
Materials handling

When you select an industry for your case Quick PEP will select certain Energy Use Systems by default. The default Energy Use Systems are based on the likely systems in use for the selected industry. Of course you may check or uncheck whichever systems you like. You must have at least one Energy Use System checked to continue Quick PEP.
