Energy Analysis

The Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) analyzes energy use and loss in industrial systems to identify the best opportunities to realize significant energy savings through technological innovations. Sensors and Automation (S&A) Research and Development (R&D) efforts are guided by industry-defined needs as well as the following analytical studies:

  • R&D Needs for Industrial Inferential Process Control (2006) (PDF 158 KB)
  • Assessment Study on Control Systems, Information Processing, Automation, and Robotics in the IOFs (2004) (PDF 760 KB)
  • Analysis of Sensors, Controls, Automation, and Robotics Needs in the IOF Technology Roadmaps (2003)
  • Analysis of Crosscutting Potential of ITP Sensor Technologies (2002)
  • Industrial Wireless Technology for the 21st Century (2002) (PDF 1.3 MB) Download Adobe Reader
  • Applicability of Recent Advances in Sensor and Control Technologies for Industrial Applications (2001)
