Industrial Wireless Workshop

The Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) sponsored this industrial wireless workshop to collect industry input on the direction of industrial wireless R&D efforts. Participants (36) representing the wireless industry, national laboratories, and end-users creatively developed ideas and concepts for the future of wireless technologies that link measurement and sensing systems with control and actuator systems for industrial processes. DOE is using the input in developing a solicitation for R&D proposals to be issued later this year.

Vision Statement

In the future, wireless technology will be the obvious choice for remote or distributed monitoring and control of industrial equipment and processing. The technology will be fully integrated and embedded, robust, reliable, cost-efficient, and totally secure.
