R&D Portfolio

Sensors and Automation (S&A) Research and Development (R&D) projects focus on advanced sensor technologies, next-generation controls and automation, improved information processing, robotics, and affordable wireless technologies. All projects are awarded through a competitive solicitation process and the work is performed by collaborative teams from industry, academia, the national laboratories, trade associations, and other stakeholders.

The Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) is currently not funding any Sensors and Automation projects. However, ITP conducts R&D in other highly relevant technology areas.

Completed Projects

Completed projects have produced useful technologies or furthered the state of knowledge to enable future advances in sensor and automation technology for industry.
