SEN State Partnership Resources

The Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) can provide state and regional entities with expanded access to ITP resources and technical assistance. ITP will work with these organizations to develop local industrial energy efficiency programs and initiatives. ITP tools and resources can be utilized and transferred to meet local partner needs. ITP has made available the following partnership tools to leverage resources in order to expand state and local organizations' reach and offerings to industrial customers.

The following are resources, documents, and tools that can be used to help industry reduce its energy intensity and emissions, and increase its competitiveness:

Sponsor a Plant Assessment

ITP sponsors assessments for large- and medium-sized industrial plants and has trained a network of Qualified Specialists throughout the country that are trained to perform assessments and make efficiency recommendations.

  • Sponsor an industrial plant assessment in your state to encourage local industry to save energy and reduce emissions.

ITP Co-Branding Options

ITP offers a variety of technical and best practice publications which are available for reproduction and distribution with your organization's logo added.

Training

Visit the training page to find out how to participate in a training, host a training in your area, or find resources for your organization's stakeholders.

Leverage Financial Resources and Incentives

Where both public and private budgets are limited, we must find ways to work together to leverage resources.

  • Identify available incentives in your state to implement efficiency programs.
  • Apply for a state funding award from ITP to implement an industrial efficiency program in your state.

State and Utility Partnership Plans

ITP has developed plans for its partnership with states and utilities which identify the needs, goals and opportunities for stakeholder collaboration to achieve efficiency improvements in the U.S. ITP also offers efficient technology research, demonstration, and deployment opportunities.  Some of the following documents are available as PDFs.  Download Adobe Reader.

  • Read the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency Vision for 2025: A Framework for Change (PDF 1.4 MB), which was developed by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability in partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
  • Read Utilities Working with Industry: An Action Plan (PDF 2.1 MB) and learn more about ITP's Utility Partnerships.
  • Read about technologies expected to enter the market over the next three years in Energy Technology Solutions: Public-Private Partnerships Transforming Industry (PDF 3.7 MB).

Memorandums of Understanding

ITP enters into Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with states and other organizations to work collaboratively and leverage resources that bring energy efficiency opportunities to the industrial stakeholders.

Regional Industrial Efficiency Summits

ITP has set out to co-sponsor Industrial Energy Efficiency Summits with local efficiency stakeholders in every region of the U.S. These Summits are a call to action for industry-wide collaboration and leverage resources to implement energy efficiency strategies. These strategies are developed by regional stakeholders to reduce energy intensity and related carbon emissions, while maintaining global and regional competitiveness for U.S. industry.

  • The Southeast Industrial Energy Efficiency Summit was held in Oak Ridge, TN on June 5, 2008.
  • The Northwest Industrial Energy Efficiency Summit was held in Portland, OR on February 17, 2009.
  • Find out how to get involved in your region's efforts.

Save Energy Now Leader Program

ITP's industrial, laboratory, state or nonprofit partners can make a formal (non-binding) commitment to meet the Save Energy Now (SEN) goal of reducing energy intensity by 25 percent in 10 years.

Additional SEN Tools and Resources

Save Energy Now tools and resources help U.S. manufacturing facilities save energy, reduce operating costs, and lower utility bills.
