Call to Action

The Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) works to facilitate interaction between the utility industry and its industrial customers. ITP has hosted summits and authored reports to lead utilities and industrial energy consumers toward reductions in energy consumption.

Summits and Action Plans

ITP and utility stakeholders came together in February 2008 for the Utilities Working with Industry Workshop to identify joint activities for ITP and the utilities to undertake. The Workshop identified outreach opportunities, case studies, training, assessments, and measurement and verifications as important activities.

ITP has set out to co-sponsor Industrial Energy Efficiency Summits/Exchanges with local efficiency stakeholders in every region of the U.S. These events serve as a call to action for local collaboration to leverage resources to implement energy efficiency in the industrial sector. These strategies are developed by regional stakeholders to reduce energy intensity and related carbon emissions, while maintaining global and regional competitiveness for U.S. industry.
