Advanced Manufacturing Office – Saving Energy in Data Centers

Training

Here you will find information on training provided by DOE to help data centers as well as information and communication technology facilities identify opportunities to save energy and increase efficiency.

Data Center Energy Efficiency Workshop

DOE and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) develops about four workshops a year to provide information, tools, and environmental best practices for data center/telecom power and cooling facilities. In these workshops you will learn about:

  • Ways to improve the energy efficiency of data centers and other energy-intensive information and communication technology (ICT) facilities
  • IT systems efficiency opportunities identified by partnering organization The Green Grid
  • How to use DOE's free DC Pro Tool Suite to perform energy assessments on data center systems.

Attendees will receive a workbook and CD of the presentation materials, voucher for one free ASHRAE datacom book, and 50% discount coupon off other ASHRAE datacom books.

These workshops are geared toward datacom facility operators, IT professionals, and facility designers and operators. Each course is taught by highly qualified instructors representing DOE and/or ASHRAE.

If you would like to sponsor a data center workshop, contact the DOE Training Coordinator.
