Data Center Energy Profiler Tool, Release 1.1.1, Now Available for User Testing

June 4, 2008

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Save Energy Now program has just released the Data Center Energy Profiler, or DC Pro, online software tool to help industries worldwide quickly diagnose how energy is being used by their data centers, and how they might save energy and money. DC Pro can be used as a first step to help companies identify potential savings and reduce environmental emissions associated with energy production and use.

Using DC Pro and information about your data center, you can complete a profile in about an hour. The tool provides an overview of energy purchases, data center energy use, savings potential, and a list of specific actions you can take to realize these savings.

DOE invites you to test the beta version of DC Pro and provide feedback.

You can also sign up to participate in this effort to reduce data center energy use.
