    Membrane Technology Workshop

    July 24, 2012

    Chicago, IL – Workshop

    Title: Membrane Technology Workshop
    Date: Tuesday July 24, 2012
Location: Hilton Rosemont, 5550 River Road, Chicago, IL
    Time: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CDT

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) will be hosting a workshop Tuesday July 24th, 2012 on Membrane Technology in the Chicago area. Membranes provide energy efficient alternatives to traditional energy intensive industrial separation processes such as distillation and have current market adoption in gas separation, water and wastewater treatment, and other applications. Significant effort in membrane technology development has been made in the past decades with many successes. Yet membrane technology has not achieved the widespread adoption and reached the anticipated potential for reducing energy intensity in industrial separations. In addition, potential applications are increasing for membranes in non-industrial applications such as buildings systems, fuel cells, and production of biofuels.

Through the workshop, AMO seeks to gather stakeholder input from industry and research communities on the current state of the art, understand the emerging technology areas, and explore manufacturing challenges. The workshop will include presentations by government personnel, industry and academic experts, as well as facilitated breakout sessions to gather input from participants.

The registration website is available here: www.yesevents.com/membrane_workshop
