Combined Heat and Power (CHP)
September 25, 2013
This Weatherization and Intergovernmental Program webinar will discuss Combined Heat and Power (CHP), also known as cogeneration, which refers to the simultaneous production of electricity and heat with distributed power-generation systems. Technical expert Michael Penev, a senior engineer for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, will provide an overview of CHP technologies commercially available today and offer implementation considerations for state-owned facilities. Dr. Dana Levy of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), will share NYSERDA's experience and lessons learned from deploying 100 CHP projects over the last 10 years. Dr. Levy will highlight three highly replicable CHP projects (a school, a multifamily building, and a hotel), and will showcase how the NYSERDA model helps New York expedite planning and procurement for CHP projects, and how states can share approved vendor resources. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of the presenters to gain additional insight into implementing CHP projects.
The webinar will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2013; 2–3:30 p.m. EDT. Register now at: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/280074504
