Industry and Government Collaborate on Certification Framework for Energy Efficiency

U.S. industry is partnering with federal agencies, the American National Standards Institute, and other organizations to create a performance-based framework that supports continuous improvement in industrial energy efficiency. Through the “Achieving Superior Energy Performance” meeting held on March 6, 2007, in Washington, DC,  participants worked to shape the concept proposal put forth to recognize and certify industrial facilities for their energy efficiency accomplishments. The proposed framework will provide a means to help companies assign greater value to their energy efficiency improvements, verify their energy savings, and receive public recognition for their achievements.
