DOE Issues Solicitation for Industrial Assessment Center Technical Field Manager
February 2, 2009
The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) is accepting applications for an Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) Technical Field Manager to assist DOE in monitoring and managing the IAC program nationally. Applicants are encouraged to propose innovative approaches for delivering program services, educational opportunities, and regional outreach efforts.
Technical Field Managers must be located in the United States, and be a college or school of engineering that has at least one of its four-year undergraduate programs accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission or the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Current IACs are eligible to apply, but if selected the center must relinquish its “center” status since the Technical Field Manager is not allowed to serve as an IAC due to a potential conflict of interest.
The closing date for applications is March 24, 2009. The selection will be made by mid-May 2009, when ITP will choose one application to award an estimated annual funding of $600,000 to $900,000 for a total of $4.5 million through Fiscal Year 2014.
