New York and Wisconsin Host Energy Technology Workshops

OIT staff participated in two Energy Technology Workshops—one hosted by the New York Forest Products Industry of the Future in Corning, New York, on October 10, 2000, and the other by the Wisconsin Forest Products Industry of the Future in Appleton, Wisconsin, on October 11, 2000.

Both the New York and Wisconsin workshops featured round table discussions prioritizing each state's needs in the Forest Products Industry. The workshops also provided participants with opportunities to learn about state and national resources available to assist the Forest Products Industry. A highlight of the New York workshop was a review by the state panel for the Timber Products Output Study.

Workshop sponsors included the U.S. Department of Energy-Forest Products Industry of the Future, Wisconsin Energy Bureau, Wisconsin Electric, Energy Center of Wisconsin, New York State Energy Research & Development Authority, SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry, Empire State Forest Products Association and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
