OIT Clearinghouse Provides Info & Answers

December 7, 1999

The Office of Industrial Technologies (OIT) invites customers to call the new OIT Clearinghouse. The Clearinghouse is one way to access information about OIT's broad array of products and services for industrial customers. The OIT Clearinghouse staff can also answer technical questions about motor, steam, compressed air, and combined heat and power systems.

In a typical day, OIT Clearinghouse engineers, other technical staff, and customer service specialists answer a wide range of questions-such as:

  1. Can you help me justify a preventative maintenance program for our steam system?
Facility manager at a petroleum refinery

  2. Will the government cost-share with us to demonstrate an innovative melting technology that is more energy-efficient than current practices?
R&D manager for a glass industry

  3. Are there software tools to help assess the costs and benefits of changing to premium efficiency motors?
    Energy engineering consultant

  4. I understand that the aluminum industry developed a detailed "Vision" and "Roadmap" document-where can I get a copy?
    Supplier to the aluminum industry

The Clearinghouse can be a first stop for U.S. industries wishing to partner with OIT on technologies and best practices that improve efficiency and profits and reduce waste. To reach the OIT Clearinghouse, call 1-800-862-2086, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
