California Energy Commission, OIT, to sponsor conference on "Energy Solutions for California Industry"

On August 14, 2001, the California Energy Commission and the Office of Industrial Technologies will sponsor "Energy Solutions for California Industry: Ways to Improve Operations and Profitability." The one-day event will provide a solutions-oriented environment for industrial electricity users who face serious challenges to remaining operational and profitable during the current energy crisis. At the conference, participants will acquire unbiased information and analytical tools that can help them increase reliability and manage costs in the short and long term.

The event is unique because it brings together representatives from private- and public-sector organizations, including financial institutions, technical services firms, and utility companies. Subsequently, attendees get a complete picture of the approaches and assistance required to achieve cost and energy savings in pumping systems, compressed air systems, and motors and drives.

In addition to breakout sessions on selected topics, attendees will have the opportunity to hear keynote speaker Senator Michael Machado discuss California's response to the energy crisis. OIT Deputy Assistant Secretary Denise Swink will present information on OIT's "Industries of the Future" strategy and related activities.

The event will be held at the Radisson Hotel, Sacramento, CA from 7:45 a.m. - 5 p.m. To register for the conference, visit http://www.projectperformance.net/caenergyevents/. Event registration is $25. Space is limited, so register today.
