Special Topical Conference on Biorefineries to be Included in November AIChE Annual Meeting

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is holding a special conference entitled "Envisioning Biorefineries: Chemicals and Materials from Renewable Feedstocks" as part of its annual meeting this year (November 3-8, 2002, Indianapolis Convention Center, Indianapolis, IN).  This topical conference will provide a forum for describing recent development across the full spectrum of this exciting and increasingly important crosscutting area.  Sessions offered include:

Chemicals and Materials from Renewable Feedstocks Plenary
Advances in Agricultural Biotechnology: Plants as Bio-Factories
Pretreatment of Lignocellulosic Biomass
Reactor Engineering for Biomass Feedstocks
Biological Conversions and Processes for Renewable Feedstocks
Chemical Conversions and Processes for Renewable Feedstocks
Separation of Processing Streams Derived from Renewable Feedstocks
Polymers and Materials from Renewable Resources
Green Bioprocessing I: Value-Added Conversions of Waste Streams
Green Bioprocessing II: Specialty Products
