"Robotics in Manufacturing Technology Roadmap" Available Online

The "Robotics in Manufacturing Technology Roadmap", now available online, identifies R&D and other activities to overcome critical barriers limiting the use of robots in manufacturing.  Industry stakeholders convened at June 2006 workshop to identify the barriers and to suggest solutions, which include improving "intelligent" grips, creating collaborative "Centers of Excellence", and developing user-friendly robot interface software.  The document incorporates the workshop results and provides a strategic plan for addressing the barriers.  For more information, please view the roadmap (PDF 1.8 MB).
