Apply Now to Become an Energy Expert!

    March 19, 2008

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) has issued a solicitation for Qualified Specialists interested in becoming Energy Experts. Energy Experts conduct energy assessments at major U.S. industrial plants as a part of ITP's nationwide Save Energy Now effort. The goal of Save Energy Now is to evaluate and improve the efficiency of industrial steam, process heating, fan, pump, or compressed air systems. In this role, Energy Experts work closely with industrial plant staff to perform the assessment, and provide information about BestPractices software tools, training, and Webcasts.

To qualify to become an Energy Expert, individuals must first be ITP BestPractices Qualified Specialists. These are highly experienced professionals who have passed a rigorous exam, and who are skilled in the use of ITP BestPractices assessment and analysis software tools. Those selected from this solicitation will attend training provided by DOE for certification as Energy Experts. Once certified, DOE will place the Energy Expert on a Qualified Bidders List for future procurement opportunities in 2008 and 2009.

The closing date for applications is 5:00 PM EST on June 30, 2008.
