    State Energy Program (SEP) Solicitation Provides $1 Million for Projects

    The U.S. Department of Energy's Golden Field Office just announced the State Partnerships under the State Energy Program (SEP) solicitation, intended to boost industrial energy efficiency and advance the activities of ITP's "Save Energy Now" (SEN) campaign. Approximately $1 million will be available for this funding opportunity. ITP seeks to partner with State Energy Offices to enhance the delivery of key SEN activities, which include promoting ITP information, tools, and resources, supporting Energy Savings Assessments, and exploring use of alternative fuels in industry.

    State Energy Offices can help energy-intensive manufacturing facilities increase their efficiency through information about new technologies and energy management best practices. This solicitation consists of two parts:

    1. Category 1 seeks projects that will play a vital role in increasing productivity and competitiveness in the industrial base through activities such as outreach, training, plant assessments, and commercialization support
    2. Category 2, which targets projects that assess feasibility of use of alternative fuels to replace natural gas or electricity in industrial facilities.

    DOE is particularly interested in multistate collaborative proposals that allow DOE to reach more states with limited resources, and to achieve maximum energy savings results through the ITP delivery strategy.
