Short Course to Highlight Energy Management Practices in Glass Industry
May 22, 2006
Alfred University's Center for Glass Research will be introducing and conducting a new short course from July 25th through July 27th on energy saving opportunities in the glassmaking process. Included in the course will be an introduction to energy concerns in glassmaking, an overview of glassmaking processes and associated thermal fundamentals, energy savings opportunities, heat recovery and an introduction to on-line tools and other resources that can help save energy in glassmaking. This two and one-half day course will provide glass plant personnel such as engineers and supervisors valuable information which can help their manufacturing operations use energy more efficiently and reduce harmful emissions. This course will be taped for subsequent classes that will be performed on-line. The course was partially funded by and developed in consultation with EERE's Industrial Technologies Program. Please visit the course announcement to find out more information about the course, including registration information.
