Apply Now for Clean Energy Application Centers Solicitation

The U.S. Department of Energy's Industrial Technologies Program is now accepting proposals to establish Clean Energy Application Centers. These centers will provide support for the technology transfer of combined heat and power, district energy, waste heat recovery, and other clean energy systems, along with support for evaluating the economic and environmental value of proposed systems based on these technologies. This solicitation closes on April 30, 2009 at 11:59 PM EST, so don't delay!
Currently, the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Regional Application Centers (RACs) promote CHP technology and applications by offering local, individualized solutions to customers on project-specific support along with education and outreach. The creation of Clean Energy Application Centers will replace the RACs, expanding the activities beyond CHP to include district energy systems, waste heat recovery, and other clean energy systems as funding becomes available. Each Clean Energy Application Center will perform education and outreach, identification of potential high impact projects, and project implementation assistance.
DOE expects to make up to eight awards under this announcement in the $1,200,000-$2,000,000 range. Recipients will be required to cost share a minimum of 20% of the total project costs.
There are several one-time actions prospective applicants must complete prior to submitting an application through Grants.gov:
- Obtain a Dun and Bradstreet Data Universal Numbering System number
- Register with the Central Contractor Registry and FedConnect
- Register with Grants.gov.
