Pumping Systems Specialist Qualification Workshop Coming in October

Many opportunities exist to improve the energy efficiency of industrial and municipal pumping systems. A typical industrial facility can reduce its pumping system energy costs by 20% through systems optimization.

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) offers a two-day Pumping System Assessment Tool (PSAT) Specialist Qualification workshop to provide you with the skills necessary to identify energy-saving opportunities in your systems. The rigorous workshop is designed for industry professionals with knowledge of pumping systems and responsibility for pumping system operations. It provides guidance on prioritizing systems for analysis, accurately measuring system performance, and using the DOE-developed PSAT software to quantify the savings potential of these systems. Participants who complete the workshop and pass a qualifying exam will be recognized by DOE as Qualified Pump System Specialists, and will be listed on the BestPractices Web site.

The PSAT Specialist Qualification workshop will be held in Charlotte, NC, on October 19-20, 2004. The workshop is co-sponsored with the Hydraulic Institute and the North Carolina Industrial Extension Service. To register, contact:
