65 Manufacturing Plants to Receive Energy Savings Assessments

DOE today announced the first round of companies selected to receive onsite Energy Savings Assessments at company plants. These 65 plants could realize significant energy and cost savings through assistance from a DOE Energy Expert, who will help the plants determine immediate and long-term ways to optimize energy use in steam and process heating systems. See the DOE Progress Alert for a list of the companies. In all, 200 of the nation's largest energy-consuming plants will be selected through the application process and receive assessments.

As a primary goal of DOE's "Easy Ways to Save Energy" campaign, ITP is helping industrial plants save energy during this time of high energy prices. ITP continues to accept applications for free Energy Savings Assessments, which help large, energy-intensive manufacturing plants find ways to reduce energy use and improve productivity.
