Forest Products Manufacturing

The U.S. forest products industry sustainably supplies wood for building products, pulp and paper, and energy. The industry is a leading user of highly efficient co-generation technology, and its facilities typically generate two-thirds of their energy needs onsite from renewable biomass.

Purchased energy remains the third largest manufacturing cost for the forest products industry–despite its extensive use of highly efficient co-generation technology. The industry has worked with AMO to develop a range of resources for further improving energy efficiency.
