New BestPractices Site Launched
October 7, 2005
ITP's BestPractices Web site has a new look—and more. Revamped to reflect the latest DOE Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy site template, the site has also been reorganized to provide easy access to the kind of information and technical assistance that industry needs most in this time of renewed emphasis on energy efficiency and conservation. In line with ITP's Save Energy Now initiative, part of a new national campaign to save energy, the updated ITP BestPractices site presents manufacturers and other industry members with a wealth of DOE resources and opportunities to reduce their energy use as supplies become tighter and costs, particularly for fuels like natural gas, continue to rise.
Site users can readily access information about BestPractices resources, which include recent and new publications detailing the ways in which U.S. plants can and do save energy. Opportunities include such help as plant-wide assessments, in which energy efficiency specialists use the latest software evaluation tools to highlight the specific ways that plants can reduce their energy costs. Technical assistance is available to both large and small to medium-sized plants—the latter through the programs of the Industrial Assessment Centers. The site is also set up so its various users—such as corporate executives, plant managers, technical staff, and the public—can easily locate information tailored to their needs.
