Cathy Zoi
Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

In her role as Assistant Secretary, Ms. Zoi manages the U.S. Department of Energy's $2.1 billion applied science, research, development, and deployment portfolio, which promotes marketplace integration of renewable and environmentally sound energy technologies. Additionally, Ms. Zoi oversees EERE's $16.8 billion in funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Henry Kelly
Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary

Dr. Henry Kelly is the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy. In this capacity, Dr. Kelly is responsible for managing the programs, staff and policies of EERE and interfacing with constituent groups in the efficiency and renewable energy sectors.

Steven Chalk
Chief Operating Officer

Steven Chalk is the Chief Operating Officer of the Office of EERE. In this capacity, he is responsible for day-to-day operational oversight and management of the Office of the Assistant Secretary and for directing the implementation of the EERE priorities, policies, and program development and execution.

John Lushetsky
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency (Acting)

John Lushetsky is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency of the Office of EERE. As Deputy Assistant Secretary, John supports the Assistant Secretary in day-to-day management of the EERE portfolio of energy efficiency programs including industrial, buildings, and vehicle technologies.

Jacques Beaudry-Losique
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Renewable Energy

Jacques Beaudry-Losique is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Renewable Energy of the Office of EERE. In this role, he oversees a portfolio of more than $750 million of Renewable and Clean Energy programs, including wind, solar, biomass, geothermal and hydrogen.

Melody C. Bell
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Business Administration

Ms. Melody Bell, Project Management Professional, is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Business Administration in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). In her prior post, Ms. Bell served as the Deputy Director of the Office of Transformation at DOE where she assessed and developed policy to enhance and improve effectiveness, utility, and efficiency of the nuclear weapons complex.

David E. Rodgers
Director of Strategic Planning and Analyis

David E. Rodgers is Director of Strategic Planning and Analysis within the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) at the U.S. Department of Energy. Mr. Rodgers supports the Assistant Secretary in day to day management of the EERE energy efficiency portfolio.

Rita L. Wells
Executive Director for Field Operations

Rita L. Wells, PhD, is the Executive Director for Field Operations. In this capacity, she manages the Golden Field Office in Colorado, DOE's primary organization for managing renewable energy and energy efficiency projects across the Nation. The Golden Field Office, which has recently experienced a growth rate of more than 50%, as well as a significant increase in workload and budget, also manages the contract for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), a government-owned contractor-operated facility.

Samuel F. Baldwin
Chief Technology Officer and Member

Sam Baldwin is a PhD. Physicist and currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer and Member of the Board of Directors for the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy.

Mark Ginsberg
Member

Mr. Mark Ginsberg was appointed by the Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) to serve on the EERE Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2002. In that capacity, Mr. Ginsberg and the Board direct EERE policy, strategies, and budgets and serve as "ambassadors" for the organization.
