1000-MW Initiative/Western Governors' Association

NREL, working through SunLab, supports the U.S. DOE's goal to install 1,000 megawatts of new concentrating solar power systems in the southwestern United States by 2010.

Concentrating Solar Power

NREL, partnering with public and private organizations, supports R&D that advances CSP technologies to make them competitive in U.S. and global power markets. NREL's Center for Buildings and Thermal Systems leads in providing critical analysis that identifies both opportunities and barriers to achieving this goal.

SolarPACES

SolarPACES is an international cooperative organization, managed by the International Energy Agency, that brings together teams of national experts from around the world to focus on the development and marketing of concentrating solar power systems.

Sun Lab

The U.S. DOE administers the CSP Program through Sandia National Laboratories and NREL. The administrative efficiency of the program is increased and the respective technical expertise of each of the national laboratories is leveraged by combining the CSP departments of each into a single business unit called Sun Lab.
