National Laboratories

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratories support the Solar America Initiative in three major areas:

Modeling (e.g., see the Solar Advisor Model) and analytical support for funding opportunities and technical monitoring
Independent testing and evaluation of deliverables for partners
Research and development support.

National laboratory facilities and personnel will support the goals of the Solar America Initiative through:

Cooperation with research and development partners on commercial and manufacturing prototype technology
Non-technology laboratory-scale prototype technology
Long-term, potentially revolutionary research and development
Access by the research and development partners.
