Utility Technical Outreach
Solar America Initiative Market Transformation activities involving utilities aim to reduce market barriers for solar energy technologies. The focus is on non-technical areas such as state and local codes and standards, interconnection, and net-metering issues.
Project Description:
Stimulate the increased utility adoption and integration of solar technologies on either side of the meter. This is done by providing information and support services to utilities throughout the United States regarding solar technologies, policies, and program design. Conduct studies to help utilities plan for new business models to take advantage of solar technology.

Goals:
Strengthen and expand the outreach, tools, and services available to utilities on solar issues. Conduct targeted analyses that will assist in removing utility-solar market barriers and help increase large-scale adoption of solar.
