Summary:

In this SunShot Initiative request for information (RFI), DOE is soliciting feedback on the design and implementation of a potential multi-stakeholder solar designation program. A multi-stakeholder designation program could result in a solar ecosystem in which increased information flow and transparency lower the soft costs of solar energy resources and increase demand and deployment.

This RFI investigates the possible effectiveness of such a program to incentivize positive changes that eliminate market inefficiencies, lower costs, and increase solar deployment. DOE is looking for general feedback from all relevant solar energy stakeholders regarding the development of a designation program for communities, installers, property owners, businesses, financial institutions, and utilities.
