National Solar Tour Comes to All but Four States on Saturday
October 3, 2007
For all of you not able to attend the Solar Decathlon in Washington,
D.C., here's a local option: solar homes and buildings in nearly every
U.S. state, as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, are
opening their doors to visitors for the National Solar Tour. Hosted by
the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) with sponsorship from DOE,
the National Solar Tour is a chance to discover how solar energy,
daylighting, wind power, and green building technologies are being put
to work in your area. Most tours for the annual event are held on
Saturday, October 6th, although some tours have already passed and
other will be held later in October. Last year, only five states
failed to offer a solar home tour, and this year, it's down to just
the Dakotas, West Virginia, and Wyoming. See the
National Solar Tour Web page and the
state-by-state listing of all the tours on the ASES Web site.
