Toyota Highlander SUV Hybrid Electric Vehicle Accelerated Reliability Testing – October 2008

Two Toyota Highlander all-wheel-drive SUV hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) entered accelerated reliability testing in one fleet in Arizona during October 2005. Each vehicle will be driven 160,000 miles. After reaching 160,000 miles each, the two Highlander HEVs will have their traction batteries tested before they are retired.

Fact sheets and maintenance logs for these vehicles give detailed information such as miles driven, fuel economy, operations and maintenance requirements, operating costs, and life-cycle costs.

The two Highlander HEVs have been driven a total of 304,000 miles and the cumulative average fuel economy for the two Highlander HEVs is 24.3 miles per gallon.
