Nissan Altima Hybrid Electric Vehicle Accelerated Reliability Testing - July 2009

Two model year 2007 Nissan Altima hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) entered accelerated reliability testing in one fleet in Arizona during September 2007. After reaching 160,000 miles each, the two HEVs will have their traction batteries tested before being retired.

Maintenance logs for these vehicles give detailed information such as the date and mileage for all maintenance and repairs performed on the vehicles.

The two Altima HEVs have been driven a total of 301,000 miles and the cumulative average fuel economy for the two Altima HEVs is 29.9 miles per gallon. Note that the first month of data had artificially high mpg due to one vehicle operating but not being fueled.
